Channel 7 Background
“Channel 7 media network for Christ” known as “Channel 7” or in Afrikaans “Kanaal 7”, is a Christian community radio station broadcasting to the nation of Namibia in Afrikaans, English, Oshiwambo and German. Channel 7 utilizes 32 FM radio transmitters, the internet, and an audio channel on DSTV, a South African satellite TV network.
Channel 7 streams two Bible reading channels and also runs an internet online youth station, CTR (Connected Rhythm) aimed at teenagers.
Channel 7 started broadcasting on 6 December 1993. At that stage, a first for Southern Africa.
